Director of the Student Affairs Department Dr. Shoukry Shaker Faleh: The festival represents an opportunity to emphasise the importance of the sacrifices of martyrs

A member of the supervisory committee of the festival (Commemorating the Membrance of the Martyrs of the Formed Baath), which was held at the Faculty of Medicine of Al-Zahra at the University of Basra and the Director of the Student Affairs Department, Dr. Shaker Shukri Faleh, said that "today's festival represents an opportunity to emphasise the importance of the sacrifices made by the martyrs for freedom and dignity, which is a necessity to preserve the collective memory and transfer it to current generations of students and the influential national depth represented by the festival that contributes to students' to their history and pride in it."

Shoukri added - the festival included many activities and events, including the opening of an exhibition of photos of the martyrs, the presentation of information about their jihadist biography and timeless sacrifices, the provision of live testimonies by the martyrs' families about their experiences and sufferings, and artistic and literary performances that express appreciation and respect for the sacrifices of the martyrs, as well as interactive discussions and conversations among the public about the importance of martyrdom in building the country.
