The President of the University of Basra invites students to register for the Higher Education Reading Award competition

The President of the University of Basra, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, called on primary studies students to register for the Higher Education Prize for Reading competition, which was launched by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi.

 His Excellency set the value of the award at one hundred million dinars, to be distributed among twenty winners, five million dinars for each student. The award is based on competition for reading the book (Renaissance Conditions) by the Arab thinker Malik bin Nabi.

 Registration continues on the competition platform (https://awards.mohesr.gov.iq/ra) until 8/15/2023, and registered students take an electronic test on 8/20/2023. The entry information for each student is provided through his official university email, so that they can participate in the exam whose material is based exclusively on the chosen book. The competition is for primary studies students in public and private universities for morning and evening studies.

 The Ministry set conditions for the competition stipulating that the contestant be of Iraqi nationality and that his age does not exceed 30 years. The contestants are also subject to a public lottery to choose twenty winners from among the top hundred contestants in the prize exam, and the twenty winners are given a cash prize (five million dinars) for each winner.

 In this context, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, calls on university students to participate in this important cultural event with the aim of stimulating positive awareness and interacting with reading the civilized text.
