Today, Wednesday, the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, visited the presidency of the University of Basra as part of his tour in the province, while praising the role of the university in sending the educational biography in the province.
 A statement by the Presidency of the Republic said that the President of the Republic met with the President and members of the University Council, and was briefed on the progress of the university's work and the tasks it performs, and delivered a speech in which he praised the university's role in establishing the principles of education.
 The statement added, "The President of the Republic spoke about the importance of Basra Governorate, its status, and the need to take care of it by developing its service reality, and he also stressed the need to maintain its security stability, because of the great benefit in improving the governorate's economic reality."
 And the statement continued, "The president appreciated the efforts made by the University of Basra, their keenness and dedication in performing their duties, and their responsibility with all sincerity and professionalism."
