The College of Dentistry hosted the proceedings of the first open session of the University Council, which was held under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, President of the University of Basra, members of the Council and directors of research centers.

The session highlighted the most important preparations for the 2023/2024 academic year, a comprehensive evaluation of scientific activities and university performance of the university’s colleges and centers, and an emphasis on investing in educational programs and portfolios in a way that contributes to raising the scientific level of the University of Basra.

Through his management of the session, Shaheen urged the teachers to move towards publishing their scientific research in international institutions and praised the competitive ranks achieved by the University of Basra in the international classifications.

The session also discussed the extensive afforestation campaigns of the University of Basra and the technical and administrative matters scheduled within its annual program and plans to develop the university.
