The University of Basra started this morning by ringing the bells for the inauguration of a new youth project entitled (Al-Manara Camp at the University of Basra) to train, develop and qualify students, graduates and youth to set up projects and of both sexes.

 Regarding the university's support for the launch of its summer training camp in its first season, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Dr.  With the necessary practical experience and making sure that these projects are compatible with the labor market needs of goods and jobs, and for this we have prepared all the possibilities for the success of the project by providing training cadres and sound, image and montage laboratories for those wishing to learn the profession of audiovisual media, professors and consultants specialized in economics and a feasibility study  Establishing projects and following up the steps of their success, as well as developing the capabilities of the trainees in acquiring foreign languages ​​and computer programming to meet the requirements of jobs in the labor market these days, and all the capabilities of the university will be available to them in addition to financial support, God willing.

 And about the circumstances of the establishment of the project and the stages of work on it, its young founder, Mahmoud Miqdad Al-Basri, said, after “many efforts and challenges, we were able, and with God’s help, to open this huge project, to which hundreds or even thousands of students and graduates will join, God willing, and we decided to call it (The Lighthouse) after  To what it provides of radiation and light that the rest of the youth emulates, and what distinguishes this camp and its training program from its previous youth programs or institutes for development and vocational education is the follow-up of the trainees in establishing their projects and not only giving them practical training sessions and certificates of participation, and I am sure that  Those projects that we will develop and work on making them successful and sustainable for the trainees joining the project this season will be a beacon for the rest of the Basra youth to imitate, and we will make their owners real professionals and pioneers in their projects, in the sense of the beacon that we mean.”

 Al-Basri added - We have set a period of one and a half months for the life of the project, which starts from the seventh of August until the fifteenth of next September, to work on implementing the plan, which consists of seven main stages, starting from receiving applications for setting up projects, through training and consultation on its work mechanism until its completion.  Al-Manara also provides additional training related to the development and professionalization of the art of public relations, which is a main focus in the interaction of the community with the element of marketing the product, and whoever will participate with us from among the students, graduates and youth, and our doors are open for registration in the project now, and the applicant for this year’s camp will certainly be a kiss and an element  He will provide training with experience to his colleagues in the upcoming second season of the 2024 project, God willing, who will tell us about the success story of his project. We will work in this season to provide all the reasons for the trainees that enable them to be successful entrepreneurs and owners of real projects, so we must  From changing the negative perception in the mind of the Iraqi youth, which relies on dependency and reliance, to appointments in government jobs, and every student and graduate must be an employer and manager and not a marginalized follower who is waiting for his monthly salary that does not meet his aspirations and aspirations for a better future for his family.
