The Prime Minister meets the President of Basra University as part of his meeting with the advanced staff of the Ministry of Higher Education and the presidents of Iraqi universities

Today, Wednesday, the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohamed Shia'a Al-Sudani, received university presidents and advanced staff at the Ministry of Higher Education, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi.

 The Prime Minister indicated that the priorities of the government program, which are based on a realistic reading of the needs of citizens, still need to support education, in all its aspects and plans, referring to the National Strategy for Education for the years (2022-2031), which needs implementation mechanisms to be put into practice.  actual.

 His Excellency diagnosed the problem of the inadequacy of the outputs of higher education to the needs of the labor market, and the lack of need for some specializations that constitute a burden on the state, while there are new and innovative professions that require qualification for their practice and investment, and stressed the need to focus on the specializations that our economy and institutions need, and that universities turn into an arena for a solution  Real problems and systems development in the field of governance, and solving the problem of expansion and exceptions that negatively affected scientific sobriety.

 The meeting discussed the need to give new universities the utmost importance in attributing, following up, financing and fully supporting their development.  Especially since these universities suffered from many problems of financial allocation, and the lack of the necessary requirements to complete their projects to be implemented according to the strategic plans and visions established during their establishment.

 In turn, the Prime Minister promised that supporting the new universities would be a priority in the current government's program, and that there would be actual, serious and continuous steps towards the new university projects and ways to advance them, referring to the committee that was formed in the past weeks headed by the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, and the membership of the advanced owners in  The Ministry of Higher Education and the Parliamentary Education Committee, placing importance on the new universities, and following up on the plans to be implemented in their agenda, which it is hoped will come out with important actual decisions to advance the status of the new universities in the coming months.

 Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi (President of the University of Basra) looked unified with the rest of the presidents of the new universities to put in place the realistic plan set by the universities, including the University of Basra, to advance the scientific and urban reality, and the actual facts that it achieved at all levels,
 Commenting on this, Hammadi stressed the insistence on continuing and persevering in developing the university and proceeding with its expansion in a way that serves the interest of society, the country and its people, appreciating the role of the Ministry of Higher Education in its support for the University of Basra, expressing his gratitude for this blessed gesture of the Prime Minister, and that everyone seeks to support the national strategy.  Education for the years (2022-2031) and by all available means.
